Responsibilities
: Operates truck and/or tractor trailer unit safely in delivering building products to customers within the assigned distribution territory. Ensures the safe loading, handling, and transportation of a variety of materials and heavy cargo. Includes checking loads for safety and that correct material has been loaded on trailer. Delivers material to destinations, ensures materials are unloaded properly, and completes the paperwork. Relays customer questions or concerns to the location management. Responsible for maintaining vehicle in safe operating condition as required by DOT. Maintains logs and records according to DOT regulations. May assist in loading and unloading vehicles or building loads. Must secure loads for safe transportation.
Basic Qualifications
: High school diploma or GED required. Must have a valid Class A commercial drivers license (CDL) and possess the ability to safely operate transportation equipment (i.e., tractor/trailer combinations). Must have working knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and meet Boise Cascade qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
: Prefer minimum of 12-months truck driving experience. Knowledge of building products and forklift experience a plus.
